Substance restrictions/prohibitions
Compliance with laws and regulations is a matter of course for us as a renowned German brand manufacturer.
Specifically, this means:
- According to Article 33 of Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 (REACH), distributors of articles (machines, accessories, as well as construction and spare parts) that contain one or more substances of very high concern (SVHC) in a concentration above 0.1 per cent by weight are subject to certain information obligations. Substances identified as substances of very high concern are included in the so-called candidate list by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). This is updated regularly:

Electrostar customer information according to REACH Article 33 - According to the information available, almost all Starmix electrical appliances contain components in which lead (CAS No. 7439-92-1) is present as an alloying element, e.g. in brass (CuZn), in concentrations greater than 0.1% by weight. The use of this substance complies with the applicable exemptions. If the products are used as intended, there is no danger to health or the environment. Safety instructions are not required.
- According to the information available from our suppliers, we assume that the registration of substances listed in Annex XIV has been completed on time.
- As far as we are currently aware, none of our articles contain Annex XVII-listed substances that would prohibit them from being placed on the market.

Information on the disposal of battery packs and old electrical appliances
Environmentally friendly products are anchored in our corporate mission statement and our code of conduct. As a renowned brand manufacturer, we therefore naturally fulfil the obligations of the European Directive.
Our power tools are labelled with the symbol of a crossed-out dustbin. This means that old electrical appliances do not belong in the residual waste bin.
- Consumers have the can dispose of them at a suitable municipal public collection point, a starmix dealer or the central customer service centre. U&W GmbH free of charge
- For disposal via a public municipal collection point, please remove the battery from battery-powered devices and dispose of it separately and in an environmentally friendly manner via a suitable collection system
- Old appliances contain important raw materials that can be recycled in line with the circular economy
For the disposal and recycling of old electrical appliances Electrostar is registered at ear (Stiftung Elektro-Altgeräte Register): WEEE registration number: DE40388831.
Battery regulation 2023/1542/EU
Electrostar GmbH fulfills the obligations and requirements of the new Battery Ordinance, which is coming into force step by step.
In Germany, the BattG, the implementation of the previous EU Battery Directive, will remain valid until 17.08.2025.
The new Battery Law Implementation Act (BattDG) is expected to come into force on 18.08.2025.
Electrostar is registered with GRS (Stiftung Gemeinsames Rücknahmesystem) for the disposal and recycling of accumulators and batteries under: BattG-Reg.-No. DE77922631
Safety recommendations for the transport and handling of lithium-ion batteries
Please note that special regulations for the transport of hazardous goods must be observed when shipping lithium batteries and rechargeable batteries. Please clarify these with us before despatch. The shipping of damaged batteries and rechargeable batteries is prohibited by law. Used batteries may contain harmful substances that can damage the environment and health. Batteries are recycled, they contain important raw materials. The wheelie bin symbol means that batteries and rechargeable batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
Packaging Directive 94/62/EU
(implemented in Germany by VerpackG)
- Product and transport packaging for our products fulfils the requirements of the EU directive on packaging and packaging waste
- Our packaging does not contain any banned substances and can be fed into the national packaging recycling system
- The product and transport packaging is part of the system.
- Packaging consisting of several components is easy to separate
- Cardboard packaging consists of a very high proportion of recycled materials
- Product packaging is labelled with the environmental code in accordance with the PPWD
