Attractive working environment to combat shortage of skilled workers

ELECTROSTAR/starmix wants to become more attractive.

Stuttgart/Ebersbach, 08.12.2022 A lack of skilled workers is not a new problem, but it is an ongoing challenge for companies across all industries. According to an ifo business survey, just under 50 percent of companies in Germany were affected this summer. This is a new high for the country. To deal with this difficulty, companies must be prepared to adapt to changing circumstances and provide incentives on their own initiative, not only to attract new employees but also to retain existing ones.

An attractive salary, company pension scheme, health care measures or the flexibility to determine working hours and location - these are just some of the expectations that employees have of their employers today. To meet these demands, ELECTROSTAR/starmix offers its employees a wide range of benefits. These range from the promotion of sporting activities to old-age provision, supplementary health insurance, support with health care and individual further training offers, to joint events and a canteen on the factory premises. For example, the company fitness programme offers discounted training at numerous facilities, even together with colleagues, bicycle leasing offers an alternative to the car, especially in summer, and the starmix pension ensures financial independence in old age. These benefits are not only available after skilled workers have been part of the company for years, but in many cases already during the probationary period and at the latest after its end. "It is very important to us that our employees feel good and enjoy coming to work. This is also the core of our management style, because people strive for recognition and self-development, and only if you offer them that, they are motivated and able to perform at their best, " says Roman Gorovoy, Managing Director of ELECTROSTAR/starmix.

Sandra Maier, who recently joined the company, can confirm how important theses efforts are. "I was directly attracted by the advertisment and the employee benefits listed there were definitely one of the deciding factors for me to apply. Fortunately, my good feelding was directly confirmed in the interviews, " says Maier, a marketing employee. The 29-year-old is particularly impressed by the importance of the work-life balance in the company, the flexible working hours, also from the home office, and the fact that there are always helpful colleagues who are happy to help. "Recently there was a challenge to see who could walk the most steps and where the first three places got a prize. Doing it together was really motivating", Maier says. "I would like to take a closer look at the sports offers in the future, which were also recommended to me by colleagues. Just like the starmix pension and the health insurance. It's really great that there are so many options and that so many people take advantage of them. You really feel in good hands and appreciated," Maier emphasises. Thanks to the training and development opportunities, employees are always up-to-date. "The company is ahead of others in many respects and gives you a real start-up feeling, although it is actually a traditional German family business", says Maier. Nevertheless, the young employee has one idea: the possibility to work from another city or even another country for a few weeks.
