New toilet facility for children in South Africa

ELECTROSTAR/starmix supports the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation with a donation for urgently needed renovation measures

Stuttgart/Ebersbach, 19. March 2025   Clean and safe sanitary facilities are a fundamental prerequisite for the healthy development of children and a positive learning environment. That is why ELECTROSTAR/starmix has provided €1,500 as part of its 2024 Christmas donation for the urgently needed renovation of the toilet facilities at the Phakamani Educare Center in Whittlesea, South Africa. The measures have since been successfully implemented, meaning that the children now benefit from improved hygienic conditions.

The donation was made in collaboration with the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation, which has been committed to education and creativity for children and young people worldwide for over 20 years. “Education opens up new perspectives for children, regardless of their background. With our donation, we want to play our part in ensuring that even the youngest children can grow up and learn in good conditions,” says Roman Gorovoy, Managing Director of ELECTROSTAR/starmix.

The connection to the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation has a special meaning for Gorovoy: he studied at the University of Durham, whose current Ustinov College is named after the former Chancellor Sir Peter Ustinov. Throughout his life, the actor and humanitarian campaigned for disadvantaged children - first as one of the first UNICEF ambassadors and later as the founder of the Sir Peter Ustinov Foundation, which he established together with his son in 1999. His legacy continues to this day: the foundation promotes educational and creative projects worldwide with the conviction that education is much more than just imparting knowledge - it is a decisive key in the fight against prejudice and intolerance.
