The Three Must-Haves for a Safe Construction Site

Stuttgart/Ebersbach, 26. Februar 2026  Construction sites pose many risks that can affect your health — sometimes immediately, sometimes over time. Whether you’re renovating at home or working on an official construction site — here are the three must-haves according to the experts from Electrostar/starmix to keep your construction site safe:

1. The Right Construction Site Vacuum

Construction work creates a lot of dust, and many people underestimate how harmful it can be to health. That’s why you should always use a suitable construction site vacuum when operating handheld machines such as a circular saw, drill, or grinder. A proper vacuum minimizes health risks. Make sure the vacuum you choose is suitable for dust classes L up to H-Asbestos. For commercial use, a vacuum with at least dust class M is required. Using matching accessories makes dust management even easier.

2. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Is Mandatory

Not only the right tools matter for reliable health protection on construction sites — personal protective equipment is crucial too. This includes:

  • Safety shoes with steel toe and penetration-resistant sole

  • Appropriate hearing protection

  • Protective goggles and a helmet to prevent head injuries

  • A dust mask and a first-aid kit

3. Air Cleaner — Your Hardest-Working Team Member

Depending on the type of construction work, more or less dust and harmful particles circulate in the air. An air cleaner helps keep the air clean — so that everyone working on the site isn’t breathing harmful particles.
