Solidarity with Ukraine

We stand together for peace in Europe.

Stuttgart/Ebersbach, 07 March 2022 - ELECTROSTAR/starmix condemns the war of aggression on Ukraine and is committed to supporting refugees from Ukraine: Thus, the company provides ten rooms in a hotel in Göppingen for several months to offer living space to up to 20 refugees from Ukraine.

In these dark times of war, the thoughts of the management and employees of ELECTROSTAR/starmix are with all those affected by the war in Ukraine. As a global company, Electrostar stands for cultural diversity, openness and progress.

The personal involvement of our employees is diverse, ranging from donations and participation in solidarity demonstrations to our own initiatives, such as collecting and delivering food and other necessities to the Ukrainian border. ELECTROSTAR/starmix supports this and is also providing ten double rooms in a Göppingen hotel to help refugees with urgently needed living space.

The company's international shareholders - 25% belong to a Danish holding company, 75% to the family-run Algo Group based in Austria - also strongly condemn Russia's military invasion of Ukraine. Managing Director Roman Gorovoy, a native of Russia, has a strong personal connection to current events through his father, who was born in Ukraine and built his own company as a private entrepreneur and made it big in Russia through a joint venture with the German company Knauf.

"To this day, many of my family members and friends live in both Ukraine and Russia, which makes the situation very emotional for me personally as well. I could not in my worst dream imagine a military conflict between two countries so closely linked culturally and historically, and I wish that everything possible will be done in the coming weeks to get a dialogue going as soon as possible for a lasting peace in Europe," said Roman Gorovoy.
Managing Director Anne Mette Solvang says: "Every individual and all of us together must now make every effort to ensure that these acts of war and their horrific consequences for the population come to an end. As a company, we want to do our part to help refugees seeking protection.
