With the DuroSweep sweeper from Ebersbach to Pilsen
The somewhat different business trip
Stuttgart/Ebersbach, 10.07.2023 – On the occasion of the launch of the new starmix DuroSweep sweeper, ELECTROSTAR sales representative Ralph Burkart is today embarking on a business trip of a special kind. Together with a brand new example of the machine, he is setting off on foot from the company headquarters in Ebersbach an der Fils to the starmix plant in the Czech town of Nýřany near Pilsen. He will be on the road for 18 days to cover the almost 400 kilometers.

"At 62, I'm no longer the youngest, but I've always been up for any kind of fun. In the past, I often went on week-long cycling and hiking tours, so I am well aware of the challenges that await me on such routes. That's why I didn't have to think twice when I was asked," says Ralph Burkart.
"With the tour to the Czech Republic, we want to show that the DuroSweep is built to last," says Roman Gorovoy, managing director of ELECTROSTAR/starmix. "In doing so, we also want to send a signal against the throwaway mentality that is still far too widespread and for sustainable product development."
Finding the route was one of the major tasks that Burkart and his support team had to overcome in advance, because not every route is suitable for a sweeper. That's why he rode the route by bicycle in advance and determined the exact route. "Even though 80 percent of the challenges in such campaigns take place in one's own head, good preparation is of course a must. As a salesman, I'm used to travel planning, yet there are some sections of the route that become very adventurous," says Burkart.
But he doesn't have to tackle the adventure alone; he is supported by an escort vehicle. A backup runner is also on board, just in case. Depending on the weather, the travel group also plans stages in the evening and at night. "I'm particularly looking forward to the sections in the evening and at night, those are always very positive experiences. I'm sure there will also be one or two opportunities to take a break in a beer garden and talk to the people there," says Burkart.
The first stages of the journey will take them via Ellwangen (July 14) and Dinkelsbühl (July 15). In Gunzenhausen (16.07.), Roth (18.07.), Heideck (19.07.) and Fürth (20.07.), the tour group will take breaks of several hours at info points, where visitors will have the opportunity to find out more about the DuroSweep. After that, the tour will continue to Nuremberg (20.07.), Sulzbach-Rosenberg (22.07.), Wernsberg-Köblitz (23.07.) and the border crossing Frankenreuth to the Czech Republic (25.07.). Via Svatá Kateřina (26.07.), Brod u Stříbra (27.07.), the route continues to the ELECTROSTAR plant in Nýřany, where Burkart will arrive on July 28.
